Refugeehelp

Netherlands-wide

An online information platform for refugees in the Netherlands, run by VluchtelingenWerk Nederland with its partners, which sorts what it shows by the visitor's own asylum situation.

From the Flux Forward organisation register · Not edited on this site How we check this

Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. We do not research, write or edit them on this site, and a listing is not an endorsement or a sign that an organisation can help with your situation. Check the organisation's own website before acting.

About

RefugeeHelp is a website that gives refugees in the Netherlands information tied to their own situation. Its privacy page names VluchtelingenWerk Nederland as the organisation behind the site and its data processing, and says the information comes from VluchtelingenWerk Nederland together with its partners. The organisation is the refugee support charity; RefugeeHelp is the online platform it publishes, and a reader looking for information will search for the website rather than for the body behind it. Its design is what distinguishes it. Rather than one general set of pages, the site asks at the start which of four situations applies: the visitor fled Ukraine, is applying for asylum, holds an asylum residence permit, or has had an asylum application refused. What is shown follows from that answer, and the choice can be changed later from the main menu. The platform began as an information point for people who fled Ukraine and its entry page now also covers the asylum route. It exists in eleven language versions, among them Dutch, English, Ukrainian, Russian, Arabic, Farsi, French, Somali, Tigrinya and Turkish.

What they offer

  • Information sorted by the visitor's own situation, chosen at the start and changeable from the main menu
  • Information for people displaced from Ukraine
  • Information for people applying for asylum
  • Information for people holding an asylum residence permit
  • Information for people whose asylum application was refused

Good to know

  • All four entry points are asylum or displacement situations. Someone who came to the Netherlands for work or study fits none of them and will not be shown relevant material.
  • It is a place to read information rather than a desk that answers individual cases: no telephone number or general email address is published, only privacy contacts.
  • Casework, personal guidance and legal support are provided by VluchtelingenWerk Nederland and its partners through their own channels, not through this website.
  • It sets out information and makes no decision on any asylum, permit or housing application.

A suggestion is read by a person and does not change a published page on its own. Please leave out personal details such as your BSN, passport number or case number.
