Room NL
Student Housing · Netherlands-wide
The shared national registration for social student housing in the Netherlands. You register once from age sixteen and build registration time; the providers let the rooms themselves.

Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. We do not research, write or edit them on this site, and a listing is not an endorsement or a sign that an organisation can help with your situation. Check the organisation's own website before acting.
ROOM's own pages send international students to a separate platform instead, where rooms are offered by one provider and an application needs approval from an affiliated educational institution, so for most internationals the route runs through their university or college.
About
ROOM is a joint registration platform set up by social student housing providers in the Netherlands. Its purpose is to replace separate waiting lists with a single national registration: you sign up once, from the age of sixteen, and the clock starts on your registration time, which many of the affiliated providers use when allocating rooms. ROOM itself rents nothing out. Once registered, you use your ROOM login on the rental platforms where the affiliated providers publish rooms, and those organisations handle the applications, the priority rules and the rental agreement. The housing is mainly unfurnished rooms with a shared kitchen and bathroom, plus some studios with private facilities, let on campus contracts that require proof of study and end six to twelve months after you finish studying. Rents follow the national points system and some rooms qualify for rent allowance. The cities covered are Amsterdam, Delft, Den Haag, Deventer, Groningen, Haarlem, Leiden, Lelystad, Rotterdam, Tilburg, Utrecht, Wageningen and Zwolle.
