Sociaal Werk Sedna is the local social work organisation for the municipality of Emmen, in the province of Drenthe, and its about page states that it is part of the Tintengroep. It works for the wellbeing of all residents of the municipality and describes its aim as strengthening people's own capacities so that they can take part in daily life as independently as possible. Residents bring it questions they cannot work out alone, on subjects including growing up and bringing up children, debts, wellbeing, informal care and life in their own neighbourhood. It says it works together with the people already around someone to find a solution, and that the support it provides costs nothing. Its structure is geographical, and that is what makes it navigable: six area teams divide the municipality, with Emmen Noord, Emmen Oost and Emmen Zuid for the city districts and De Blokken, De Velden and De Monden for the outlying villages, covering places such as Klazienaveen, Nieuw-Amsterdam, Schoonebeek, Emmer-Compascuum and Roswinkel. Further staff work across the municipality alongside the six teams. Its central office is in Emmen.
