About
StartGreen Capital is a Dutch fund manager with an office on the Mauritskade in Amsterdam. It has developed and managed impact funds since 2006 and states that it is regulated by the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets and by the Dutch central bank. Its business is designing funds and financing structures, raising money from investors, and putting that money into projects and companies. It works through two strategies it treats as complementary. Project finance goes into capital intensive energy and circular infrastructure, where cash flows are more predictable and risks are structured. Venture capital goes into companies with a technical solution that are ready to scale. The funds it runs cover several themes: a provincial energy fund for Overijssel investing in energy saving, renewable energy and innovation there; a national fund financing energy transition projects from storage and charging infrastructure to sustainable mobility; a participation fund for Noord-Holland backing sustainable economy projects; a climate impact equity fund investing in companies ready for scaling; and a fund investing in companies where at least one woman sits in the management team with an equity stake.

Good to know
- It manages funds. A company approaches the individual fund whose theme and geography fit, each of which has its own criteria.
- Two of the funds it manages are provincial and invest only in their own province.
- It invests in projects and companies. It offers nothing connected with relocation, permits or settling in.
