About
Startup Flevoland presents itself as the central platform for entrepreneurs in the province of Flevoland. Membership of its community is free and open to startups, scale-ups, hubs, coaches, investors and organisations that want to join as partners. It grew out of the work two entrepreneurs did on Startup Almere, and the site says plainly that the platform is still being built and that more features and content are being added. What it publishes today is a community platform with a calendar of events, workshops and networking sessions, a directory where founders can find coaches, a map of the provincial ecosystem, news articles, a podcast and a newsletter. Its what we do page is unusually direct about the limits of the role: it states that the platform is not an implementation organisation or a programme owner, that it does not execute plans itself, and that its job is to bring entrepreneurs, investors, knowledge institutions and governments together so collaborations can start. It organises the province's business themes as democratic renewal, health, water, farm of the future, circular economy, defence, education and high tech.
