About
Stichting Kunst & Cultuur, usually shortened to K&C, is a foundation based at Dr. Nassaulaan 5 in Assen. Its stated purpose is good cultural education in the schools of Drenthe and Groningen, and cultural participation in Drenthe. It addresses five groups. For education it develops activities and material for primary, secondary, special and vocational schools, for childcare, and for cultural entrepreneurs who want to work with schools, covering art, heritage and media, with projects that range from heritage lessons to arts teachers working in the classroom. For makers, from amateurs to professionals and across music, visual art, design and dance, it runs projects, meetings, further training and network gatherings, and it has separate strands for art in public space and for culture in the social domain. For self-employed people in the cultural sector it gives advice on artistic and business questions. For the public it organises events and keeps an overview of festivals in Drenthe. It also works with local and national government on culture.
