More about where our information comes from

Worth a visit if you are a student, particularly an international one, and unsure how Dutch employers expect a CV, motivation letter or internship application to look. The support comes from fellow students, with Make It In The North as a project partner.

About

The Student Career Hub is a student-led initiative that NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences lists among its projects, running since February 2026. According to that project page, it was set up to close the gap between students and the labour market in the Northern Netherlands, where many students, especially international students, lack the network, knowledge of Dutch recruitment practice and job application skills they need. The hub offers weekly walk-in consultations, interactive workshops and personalised guidance. Topics include presenting yourself professionally, writing CVs and motivation letters, and finding internships and jobs in the Dutch context. It combines peer-to-peer support from students with outside expertise. The project page names Make It In The North and Student Info NHL Stenden as project partners and says the hub was created in collaboration with Make It In The North, which features it among its career services. The hub also works on links with regional employers, including identifying local businesses that may be open to hiring international students. Contact runs through an email link and an Instagram account, both on the project page.

What they offer

  • Weekly walk-in career consultations for students
  • Interactive workshops on CVs, motivation letters and presenting yourself professionally
  • Personalised guidance on finding internships and jobs in the Dutch context
  • Connections between students and regional employers
