It works on behalf of companies and institutions rather than with individuals, and presents itself as a route through regional, national and European subsidy arrangements.
About
TCNN, in full TechnologieCentrum Noord-Nederland, is a foundation based on Paterswoldseweg in Groningen. Day to day it is run by a small team of project managers under a managing director, with a separate board of chair, treasurer and vice chair. The work itself is project management for innovation: TCNN initiates, coordinates and leads innovation programmes on behalf of small and medium-sized companies, knowledge institutions and public and semi-public bodies in the northern Netherlands, and it says it has been guiding innovation projects in the region for more than 25 years. Four themes shape the portfolio, each written as a transition: from analogue to digital, from a linear to a circular economy, from fossil to sustainable energy, and from care to positive health. These match the RIS3 priorities of energy, circular economy, digitalisation and health. Its listed collaborations include the provinces of Groningen, Fryslan and Drenthe, the regional development company NOM, VNO-NCW Noord and MKB Noord, the University of Groningen, Hanze, NHL Stenden, Van Hall Larenstein, Wetsus and the UMCG.
