If you arrive in The Hague, Delft, Rijswijk or Leidschendam-Voorburg as a highly skilled migrant, researcher, graduate, founder, diplomat or family member, this is where registration, your BSN and your IND documents are handled free of charge.
About
The Hague International Centre is part of the municipality of The Hague and states that all of its services are free. Its counter is in the Atrium of City Hall. Because it is a municipal service rather than a partnership or a city marketing body, it can carry out municipal steps directly, but its formalities desk is not open to every newcomer: the Centre lists it as being for highly skilled migrants, diplomats, scientific researchers, graduates, start-ups and their family members. For those groups it handles three things together: registration with the municipality of The Hague, Delft, Rijswijk or Leidschendam-Voorburg, the citizen service number, and collection of residence and work documents issued by the Immigration and Naturalisation Service. Alongside that it runs information services open to anyone, including helpdesks, welcome guides, a newsletter, welcome events, relocation webinars and thematic seminars. Its website is organised by situation, with separate routes for highly skilled migrants, EU and EEA workers, family migrants, students, privileged persons and diplomats, refugees, and employers with international staff.

Good to know
- The free formalities desk covers a defined list: highly skilled migrants, diplomats, scientific researchers, graduates, start-ups and their family members. Other newcomers can use the information services, helpdesks, guides and events but register with their own municipality.
- Registration through this Centre applies to The Hague, Delft, Rijswijk and Leidschendam-Voorburg. Arrivals in other municipalities are outside its formalities remit.
- The Centre carries out the municipal steps but does not decide immigration status. Residence and work permits are granted by the Immigration and Naturalisation Service.
- Study information for the city is published by Study in The Hague, which is run by a separate partnership and is not part of this Centre.
