About
The Unusual Space is the public name of Unusual Companies BV, a company operating from Vinkenburgstraat 2A in the centre of Utrecht, near the Oudegracht. Half of what it does is space: a ground floor of roughly 495 square metres for around 100 people, with meeting rooms, a large event space, phone booths, an on-site cafe area, reception and mail handling. Desks, rooms and the event space are booked and invoiced. The other half is startup visa facilitation. The company states that it is an officially recognised facilitator, describes the facilitator role as supporting a startup through its first year in the Netherlands, and runs an application route plus a facilitation programme staffed by its own facilitation managers and mentors. Around this it holds events, publishes guides on subjects such as Dutch business finances, public relations and the requirements of the startup visa, and says it introduces founders to Dutch investors, mentors and partners.
