About
Up!Rotterdam is not a company or a foundation but a programme of the Municipality of Rotterdam, run from its urban development department. Its public face is the Rotterdam Innovation City website, whose contact block names the city. What the programme does falls into three parts. It organises activity for founders and companies in the city: trade missions to international technology events, network and community meetings, and routes to capital, talent and markets. It groups that work into themes covering the built environment, the circular economy, digital, energy, life sciences and health, and maritime, alongside a programme on smart energy systems. And it publishes: news for entrepreneurs, explanations of rules and subsidy schemes, interviews with Rotterdam founders, and a monthly newsletter on founders, events and investment in the region. Its own pages name the municipality, the city's marketing and investment bodies, the regional development agency, the metropolitan authority, the port authority and a city innovation fund as the parties it works with.
