One appointment can cover biometrics, collecting your residence document and first registration with the municipality of Utrecht, Amersfoort, Hilversum, De Ronde Venen, Woerden or Oudewater.
About
Utrecht International Center is the service point for people who move to the Utrecht region from abroad. Its privacy statement names the City of Utrecht, the Province of Utrecht, the City of Amersfoort and Utrecht University as its founders and funders, and it was previously called International Welcome Centre Utrecht Region. It sits inside the Utrecht city office and runs three counters: an immigration service desk, a civil affairs desk and an information desk. At the immigration desk you give your fingerprints and photograph, collect your residence document and collect residence endorsement stickers; you need a letter inviting you to make the appointment and must have asked for your document to be sent there. A combined appointment lets you also register with one of six municipalities at the same visit. Use of the desks is limited to people who live or work in the Utrecht region. The centre also runs an information point on the rights and duties of labour migrants, a job portal, information pages on housing, healthcare, childcare and Dutch lessons, and referrals to partner service providers.

Good to know
- The desks are for people who live or work in the Utrecht region. Anyone else is sent to a different international centre or immigration desk.
- The combined registration appointment covers six municipalities only: Utrecht, Amersfoort, Hilversum, De Ronde Venen, Woerden and Oudewater. Elsewhere you register with your own town hall.
- You cannot walk in for the immigration desk. You need an invitation letter and must have asked for the document to be sent here.
- It carries out the procedure; the residence permit decision rests with the Immigration and Naturalisation Service.
