Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences is a Dutch hogeschool with campuses on the Agora in Leeuwarden and on the Larensteinselaan in Velp, next to Arnhem. It teaches and researches in the green domain. Its institutional plan names four transitions it works on: climate adaptation and mitigation, sustainable agriculture and food chains, sustainable water management, and biodiversity and animal welfare in rural and urban areas. Bachelor programmes presented in English include Animals, Society and Business, Equine, Sports and Business, Food Technology, International Agribusiness and Trade, International Development Management, and International Nature Conservation. It also offers master programmes, exchange places including Erasmus+, and a professional education arm. Applied research runs through twenty three professorships and living labs, carried out with companies and other partners in the field. An executive board and a supervisory board govern the institution, with an education director and a research director at each campus. A Student Service Centre answers study questions by form, telephone and messaging, prospective students can chat with current students online, and an international recruitment adviser meets applicants online or during visits to their own country. It also hosts the Green Entrepreneurship Centre, a knowledge centre open to all its students and alumni.
