Veilig Thuis Drenthe is the advice and reporting point for domestic violence, child abuse and elder abuse for the province of Drenthe. It states that it is there for all residents of the province, young and old, and that anyone may approach it: a person looking for help in their own situation, somebody worried about another person, a professional, a person who has been harmed, and a person who is using violence. Its office is on the Mien Ruysweg in Assen and it states that it is part of the provincial health service. Its team includes registered youth care staff, behavioural scientists and confidential doctors, and it works with the police, care providers, general practitioners, hospitals and municipal social teams. The route in is the number 0800 2000, which it states is reachable at any hour on any day and can be used anonymously. It also publishes a Drenthe number for weekday daytimes, a chat on its website on weekdays, and an interpreting service for people who are deaf, hard of hearing or speech impaired, by sign language, speech or text.
