From the Flux Forward organisation register · Not edited on this site How we check thisHide
Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. We do not research, write or edit them on this site, and a listing is not an endorsement or a sign that an organisation can help with your situation. Check the organisation's own website before acting.
You can register yourself through its own form rather than needing a referral first, which matters if you are not yet in contact with any social organisation.
About
Voedselbank Groningen is the food bank serving the municipality of Groningen, registered as a foundation and, by its own account, run entirely by volunteers. It collects food given by companies, supermarkets and private individuals and passes it to households in the municipality that cannot cover the cost of food themselves. The two aims it states are to reduce poverty that stays out of sight and to keep usable food from being thrown away. Help is arranged as a period of support that can be extended rather than a single handout. There are two published ways in: a person can register themselves through the food bank's own form, or a social organisation already working with them can register them. Food is handed out at its premises in Groningen, which is also the organisation's address, and general questions go to a published telephone number. It works with the national association that most Dutch food banks belong to.
What they offer
