If you are starting out or a few years into your career and want to work in Groningen, Friesland or Drenthe, Vonk places you on assignments at northern employers with a structured development programme alongside the work. The assignments are mostly with municipalities, provinces, water boards and care organisations. Joining the talent pool is how you hear about openings.
About
Vonk is a talent development organisation for the Northern Netherlands, working with starters and young professionals on one side and with the organisations that want to work with them on the other. Its partners are mostly in the northern public and semi-public sector: municipalities, provinces, water boards, and care and welfare organisations. Its three development programmes are listed below, and what they share is the operating model. You work on an assignment at one of its partners and spend on average one day a week at Vonk for training, coaching and intervision and for guidance on that assignment, in a fixed group following a shared development programme. Part of the training package is chosen with your Vonk coach, from insight training about your own drivers and qualities and skills training such as negotiation, project management and process facilitation. All of it draws on the Vonk Academie, its own school for young professionals. Vonk develops and coordinates traineeships on behalf of its partners and takes part in the selection procedure as well as running the coaching. Its stated aim is keeping talent in the region, and where an assignment works out the agreement allows the client to offer a job while the development track finishes.
