About
VU StartHub is a startup hub on the campus of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. It is not a separate organisation: it is run by the university's entrepreneurship and impact unit, which describes itself as the hub where entrepreneurial students, researchers, alumni and companies come together, and whose website carries the StartHub pages. The hub offers two kinds of membership: a resident membership that comes with a permanent office, and a virtual membership with no workplace. Both give access to the community, its events, a pool of alumni mentors, the meeting rooms and the use of the address as a registered business address. Rent covers energy and internet, and members get partnership benefits such as software discounts. Members are also connected to people at the university, including academics and students looking for internships, and the hub holds meetups, network meetings and social events for the companies based there. The companies working there cover fields such as medical devices, artificial intelligence tools, batteries and charging, robotics and consumer applications.
