Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. We do not research, write or edit them on this site, and a listing is not an endorsement or a sign that an organisation can help with your situation. Check the organisation's own website before acting.
UWV's English guidance for people from the EU, the EEA and Switzerland suggests registering on werk.nl once you have a BSN and DigiD, so it is a later step rather than a first stop. If you receive unemployment benefit, the Werkmap is where your job-search activity is recorded, in Dutch.
About
werk.nl is a public employment platform in the Netherlands. Its footer describes it as a website of UWV and your municipality, the government register lists werk.nl among UWV's internet domains, and UWV's English pages call it a job platform set up by UWV and the local council. Its terms say the site consists of, among other things, a CV and vacancy bank, background information on the labour market and public services such as digital benefit applications, and that using it is free. Jobseekers can search vacancies, post a CV that employers can find, and use the Werkmap, a personal environment for applications and messages where people receiving unemployment benefit (WW) also handle their job-search obligations. The site offers the Beroepskeuze career-change tool and an option to share a werk.nl CV on the European EURES job portal. In some municipalities, registering as a jobseeker and applying for social assistance (bijstand) starts on werk.nl, while the municipality assesses the application. Employers can post vacancies, which are also placed on EURES, search CVs free of charge after logging in with eHerkenning, and find their regional employer service point.
What they offer
Good to know
- The site is in Dutch. There is no English version apart from a few pages for foreign employers.
- The Werkmap needs DigiD, or a European login for EU citizens, and employer features need eHerkenning.
- It does not decide on social assistance (bijstand): the municipality assesses applications and pays the benefit.
- Unemployment benefit (WW) is administered by UWV on uwv.nl. werk.nl is where people receiving WW record their job search.
