From the Flux Forward organisation register · Not edited on this site How we check this

Organisation records are published from the Flux Forward organisation register and shown here exactly as that register holds them. We do not research, write or edit them on this site, and a listing is not an endorsement or a sign that an organisation can help with your situation. Check the organisation's own website before acting.

Anyone living in Fryslan can walk into the Leeuwarden counter without an appointment and be directed to the right organisation for work or retraining.

About

Werkcentrum Fryslan is a shared counter for work related questions covering the whole province of Fryslan, run from one site in Leeuwarden and from its website. Its privacy statement states that it is a partnership and not a legal entity of its own. The organisations behind it are all eighteen Frisian municipalities, the province of Fryslan, the national employee insurance agency, the trade unions, education institutions, the social development enterprises and the cooperation body for vocational education and business. Three groups are addressed. People looking for work get advice and personal guidance and are put in contact with organisations that can help. People who want to retrain are helped to work out which course or training would improve their position. Employers get advice on filling vacancies, on what to do when they have too much or too little staff, and on financial schemes and subsidies they may be entitled to. Alongside the counter it runs practical group activities such as CV training and themed walk in mornings, including sessions about applying for work in another European country. You can walk in, use the website, or ask to be called back.

What they offer

  • Advice and personal guidance for people looking for work, with referral to partner organisations
  • Advice on courses and training for people who want to develop or retrain
  • Employer advice on recruitment, on over and under staffing, and on subsidies and financial schemes
  • Workshops and themed walk in sessions, including sessions on working in another European country

Good to know

  • Its geography is the province of Fryslan, and it has one counter, in Leeuwarden.
  • It advises and refers. Benefits decisions, job placement and course enrolment are made by the partner organisations.
  • Its published cross border activity runs outward: the sessions on working abroad are for Frisian residents applying for jobs in other European countries, not for people arriving in the Netherlands.
